TISS Guwahati Recruitment 2025: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has announced a recruitment drive for Research Associate and Research Assistant positions at its Guwahati campus for the project titled:
“Community Knowledge Platforms for Collective Action through Participatory Landscape Planning and Management in Assam and Meghalaya.”

TISS Guwahati Recruitment 2025 Overview

1. Research Associate

  • Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance till the project ends)
  • Location: TISS Guwahati Campus with fieldwork in Assam and Meghalaya
  • Monthly Remuneration: ₹28,000 (consolidated)
Educational Qualification

Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Rural Development, Media Studies, Journalism, or related fields with at least 55% marks.

Desirable Skills
  1. Prior experience in research, project management, or fieldwork, especially in Northeast India.
  2. PhD in relevant fields (Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, etc.).
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for preparing reports and knowledge products.
  4. Proficiency in local languages.
  5. Knowledge of participatory methodologies, GIS mapping, MIS, and sustainable development practices.

2. Research Assistant

  • Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance and project requirements)
  • Location: TISS Guwahati Campus with fieldwork in Assam and Meghalaya
  • Monthly Remuneration: ₹18,000 (consolidated)
Educational Qualification

Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Rural Development, Media Studies, Journalism, or related fields with at least 55% marks.

Desirable Skills
  1. Experience in research, project management, or fieldwork, particularly in Northeast India.
  2. Knowledge of local languages.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  4. Skills in creating small media clips, brochures, and handling social media platforms.
