Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum age is 30 years as of February 2025. Relaxations apply:
- OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, Women Candidates: Up to 5 years relaxation.
- Assistant Professor and Ph.D. Admissions: No upper age limit.
2. Educational Qualification
- General/General-EWS: Minimum 55% in Master’s degree or equivalent.
- OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender: Minimum 50% in Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Candidates awaiting final results or completing their Master’s degree within two years of the NET result are eligible.
Note: For ‘Admission to Ph.D. Only’ category, Master’s degree completion is mandatory within one year of the NET result.
Stipend and Benefits for JRF
Selected JRF candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 for the first two years. Additionally, an annual contingent grant of ₹20,000 is provided. The fellowship terms are governed by CSIR, UGC, or the applicable research scheme.
